Can you pick a color for my walls?

I cannot figure out what color to paint my walls in the main room. I picked this pretty muted goldish looking yellow that turned out to be bright yellow. Jamie picked out and boring blah color and the other day my good friend came by with a color that I like but still cannot figure out if it looks green. My kitchen is green so I do not want a green great room as well. Help! I am very open to suggestions!

yellow's a tricky color. But from what I can tell that paler yellow looks pretty.
my aunt always said to leave swatches of color up for a couple of days with your blinds open/shut lights on/dim etc. and see what it does to the color- lighting can make a gorgeous color look like cr*p. (I'm not allowed to say that "c" word anymore. but if I spell it with an asterick it doesn't count. so there.)

We are painting our entire house right now, so I know how stressful picking a color can be. We have picked 6 and have about 20 gallons of paint, so I hope we picked the right colors. I didn't do a yellow, but have you checked out the Benjamin Moore Pottery Barn colors? They had some yellows that might be cute. Good luck!
