Luke in his underpants in a fire truck! It's okay to call me a redneck for this one :-)

This actually happened a few weeks ago but I forgot to post it. It was late in the evening and the fire dept. was in our neighborhood collecting money for a charity. They let the kids see the fire truck up close. Luke was just in his undies because it was about 8 pm and I had changed his clothes like 4 times that day due to him wetting his pants or jumping in the pool with his clothes on. The laundry pile was getting big so I just let him sit in his undies. Then the truck came around and I was not going to let him miss it because he was in his undies. If we went in the house we may have missed the opportunity. So maybe to some I am a bad Mom for this. In my book I will pat myself on the back. I think I'm a cool Mom!

The results are in! Drum roll please...

We had our ultrasound yesterday. We sat and looked at the heart, the head, the sweet little fingers and then she asked if we wanted to see what we were having. I almost shouted YES, YES, YES! But held back and let Christina give the answer. She tech said can you tell what it is and everyone said oh wow! I was like "what"? "I don't see anything." Then she said "it's a boy!" How could I miss that? I then saw it! I think I was still looking for girl parts. I was in SHOCK! I put on the biggest smile. I was happy! Very happy! I was just in shock because I thought it was a girl all this time and I am usually right. A BOY!! A BOY!!! A BOY!! Jamie said he knew all along it was a boy but did not want to say anything. Rhonda said the same. The only brave enough person to tell me it was probably going to be a boy was Ashly. So we made a bet. I owe her a milk shake. I honestly really, really thought it was going to be a girl. Jamie was smiling ear to ear. I was planning how to tell Aubree. When we had Ryan's ultrasound we told her it was a boy and she was in denial and still told people we were having a girl for 3 months. I called her and her exact words were " What? What? WHY?!? WHYYY?!?" She then sobbed. I told her it would be great that she is still the only girl because we would be alone when it was girls night and so on. She was not hearing it. I got off the phone. I called about an hour later and she was fine. She said "I want it to sleep in my room". My friend was there when she was upset and talked to Aubree about it. It really helped and because it was Tina who Aubree loves she was able to help Aubree accept that boys are great. Thanks Tina! We are thrilled. God knows what he is doing. This boy will be two years from Ryan and 4 from Luke. I hope they will all be close and good examples to each other. We are happy to say he looks healthy and we cant wait to hold him in our arms. 10 weeks and counting!!! If anyone cares we are naming him Davis. Christina really likes the name and we like it too. So we wanted to give her the honor of helping name him.

Van for sale!

Our Van is for sale! If anyone needs one call us! I don't know how much is costs. You will have to ask Jamie. I know, I know I am a horrible sales person. I have been out of sales for 7 years so I am a bit rusty!

This is me before signing the papers for our new van. I hate seeing how much things cost. I freak out. I have never gone with Jamie to buy a car before. He always does it on his own because he knew I would make ugly faces like this and freak out.

In other news I think we only have like 11 weeks left until the baby is due! June 12 we go for the ultrasound. We hope to find out if we are having a girl or a boy! We are sooo excited!

Jordan and Brennalee's Wedding

Wow! What a fast weekend. I think at least one kid was crying every hour of the day. It was hard but we were happy to be there. It was so nice to see Jordan in love. It does him well. He has a great bride and I know they will do well together. The kids loved getting to see their cousins and we enjoyed visiting with family. The best treat for me was my parents meeting us out there and helping us with the kids. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU Mom and Dad. We really could not have done it alone. Well I could not have done it. Jamie said it best my parents are great. They really are. I am blessed. I had a great time visiting with them. We are now home the kids time is all messed up but we hope to get it back to normal this week. There were so many pictures. So I made the slide show... Enjoy!

Bragging alert...

Okay, you can't say I didn't warn you! I am going to brag about our little Aubree. This weekend she had her ballet recital. She did awesome. I am sure the others in the class did as well but I only watched her. We were so impressed with her. She was right on, on every step. She stood up strait pointed her toes and everything. Jamie was a little sad because she told him she did not like baseball. Talk about breaking Dads heart. After seeing her in ballet he was excited she did so well.

Jamie is at the Dr. right now. Today was supposed to be THE DAY he was allowed to put weight back on his foot but he got denied! This is so frustrating! I say we just cut off the leg and put a fake one on. The walking time frame might be faster. Ha! Ha!

Thanks to everyone for my birthday wishes. It was a okay birthday. I was in a grouchy mood. Jamie got me a candle from Kroger any men reading this take some notes. NEVER and I mean NEVER buy your wife a gift from a grocery store. He tried to make it up to me but there was no pleasing me. I was a brat I know but the candle made me mad :-) I love Jamie he puts up with such a bratty wife. I really am the lucky one in the relationship.

Grandma

My Grandma Huerta passed on this morning. She has been in the hospital for a little less than a week now. We knew it was coming. I am very sad but also happy for her. She was my last Grandparent to go. I just wanted to honor her with two stories.

When I was a little girl I spent the night at her house. This was a real treat. It was not everyday a child from my family was invited to spend the night. We had a large family and I am sure we were brats. Anyway, Grandpa and Grandma ordered pizza. It was spicy but really good. She told me I could not drink anything past 7 because she did not want me wetting the bed. I was dying of thirst but not one sip of anything was allowed. She even watched my brush my teeth to make sure I did not try to sip the water off my tooth brush.

Last summer Jamie and I made a quick trip to California. We went to visit Grandma in the retirement home. She had a really bad memory problem. I walked in and she asked who I was. I told her and then she said "I would not recognize you if I saw you on the streets" I introduced her to Jamie (they had met but she did not remember him) She said "oh how handsome" and then she asked if we had kids, how long we were married, where we lived and so on. There were about 5 questions all together. After she was done with her questions she would restart "WHO ARE YOU?" and then "I WOULD NOT RECOGNIZE YOU IF I SAW YOU ON THE STREETS" and then the same other questions. This went over and over until we left. Jamie started to giggle a little after she asked who I was for the 20th time. We just thought it was cute.

Oh, Grandma. I will miss you.

Derby Hat

Aubree was really into the Derby this year. She learned a lot about it from school and shamed me for not teaching her about it. I made it up to her by helping her make a Derby hat. She had a lot of fun doing it. Luke got a hat too but did not want to decorate it. Less work for me so I was fine with that.

Ryan loves to grab my scriptures and flip through the pages. I think he likes the feel of the paper. Who knows he probably knows how to read. I am still in shock that he knows most of his letters.

The sun has been out. It is very warm here. Today I took the kids to the park and they loved it. Ryan fell asleep on the way home. I love being out doors so the weather makes me very happy. My house always goes to pot during the spring and summer. I end up staying up late cleaning. I was watching each of the kids today playing and thinking how thankful I am for them. Aubree is so mature. She still likes to tell me about her day. I hope she will always be open with me. Luke has to be the friendliest kid in the world. I meet so many people through him. He introduces me to everyone. Ryan is so happy and loves to be outside just like me. Looking at the kids and thinking about our new little angel are things to be so thankful for. With Jamie being hurt and me taking a lot of the load I have been a little bit of a grump. Taking time to reflect on all my blessings really help.
