Jordan and Brennalee's Wedding

Wow! What a fast weekend. I think at least one kid was crying every hour of the day. It was hard but we were happy to be there. It was so nice to see Jordan in love. It does him well. He has a great bride and I know they will do well together. The kids loved getting to see their cousins and we enjoyed visiting with family. The best treat for me was my parents meeting us out there and helping us with the kids. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU Mom and Dad. We really could not have done it alone. Well I could not have done it. Jamie said it best my parents are great. They really are. I am blessed. I had a great time visiting with them. We are now home the kids time is all messed up but we hope to get it back to normal this week. There were so many pictures. So I made the slide show... Enjoy!

Bragging alert...

Okay, you can't say I didn't warn you! I am going to brag about our little Aubree. This weekend she had her ballet recital. She did awesome. I am sure the others in the class did as well but I only watched her. We were so impressed with her. She was right on, on every step. She stood up strait pointed her toes and everything. Jamie was a little sad because she told him she did not like baseball. Talk about breaking Dads heart. After seeing her in ballet he was excited she did so well.

Jamie is at the Dr. right now. Today was supposed to be THE DAY he was allowed to put weight back on his foot but he got denied! This is so frustrating! I say we just cut off the leg and put a fake one on. The walking time frame might be faster. Ha! Ha!

Thanks to everyone for my birthday wishes. It was a okay birthday. I was in a grouchy mood. Jamie got me a candle from Kroger any men reading this take some notes. NEVER and I mean NEVER buy your wife a gift from a grocery store. He tried to make it up to me but there was no pleasing me. I was a brat I know but the candle made me mad :-) I love Jamie he puts up with such a bratty wife. I really am the lucky one in the relationship.

Grandma

My Grandma Huerta passed on this morning. She has been in the hospital for a little less than a week now. We knew it was coming. I am very sad but also happy for her. She was my last Grandparent to go. I just wanted to honor her with two stories.

When I was a little girl I spent the night at her house. This was a real treat. It was not everyday a child from my family was invited to spend the night. We had a large family and I am sure we were brats. Anyway, Grandpa and Grandma ordered pizza. It was spicy but really good. She told me I could not drink anything past 7 because she did not want me wetting the bed. I was dying of thirst but not one sip of anything was allowed. She even watched my brush my teeth to make sure I did not try to sip the water off my tooth brush.

Last summer Jamie and I made a quick trip to California. We went to visit Grandma in the retirement home. She had a really bad memory problem. I walked in and she asked who I was. I told her and then she said "I would not recognize you if I saw you on the streets" I introduced her to Jamie (they had met but she did not remember him) She said "oh how handsome" and then she asked if we had kids, how long we were married, where we lived and so on. There were about 5 questions all together. After she was done with her questions she would restart "WHO ARE YOU?" and then "I WOULD NOT RECOGNIZE YOU IF I SAW YOU ON THE STREETS" and then the same other questions. This went over and over until we left. Jamie started to giggle a little after she asked who I was for the 20th time. We just thought it was cute.

Oh, Grandma. I will miss you.

Derby Hat

Aubree was really into the Derby this year. She learned a lot about it from school and shamed me for not teaching her about it. I made it up to her by helping her make a Derby hat. She had a lot of fun doing it. Luke got a hat too but did not want to decorate it. Less work for me so I was fine with that.

Ryan loves to grab my scriptures and flip through the pages. I think he likes the feel of the paper. Who knows he probably knows how to read. I am still in shock that he knows most of his letters.

The sun has been out. It is very warm here. Today I took the kids to the park and they loved it. Ryan fell asleep on the way home. I love being out doors so the weather makes me very happy. My house always goes to pot during the spring and summer. I end up staying up late cleaning. I was watching each of the kids today playing and thinking how thankful I am for them. Aubree is so mature. She still likes to tell me about her day. I hope she will always be open with me. Luke has to be the friendliest kid in the world. I meet so many people through him. He introduces me to everyone. Ryan is so happy and loves to be outside just like me. Looking at the kids and thinking about our new little angel are things to be so thankful for. With Jamie being hurt and me taking a lot of the load I have been a little bit of a grump. Taking time to reflect on all my blessings really help.

Aubree's game, Lukes new wheels and Papa going home...

Aubree had another great game. She was up twice and made hits both times. Jamie is thrilled that his little girl is 5 for 5 this season.

This last Christmas we gave Luke a power wheel motorcycle that I got at a garage sale. It lasted a month before it broke for good. We felt bad so we planned getting him another one once the weather was warm. So here is what he picked out. He is a wild man on it.

Papa left this morning. He had to get back home and go to work. Boo! We had a great time with him. He was so much help. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Papa! We love you!

ABC's, Swimming, Mylee, Papa, Dinner and Bird leg

Yesterday I was putting laundry away in the boys room. Ryan walked in with his usual smile with this black binder of letters. Aubree made this in preschool last year. I have it out for Luke to look at. I am working with him on his letters. Anyway, Ryan opens the book and turns it to G and says "G" and then looks at me with a HUGE smile! I said "oh good Ryan". I really thought he just knew that letter. He then preceded to go through the whole book getting about 1/2 the letters right. I wish I could take credit for this but I can't. The Blues Clues letter toy gets all the credit. He plays with it all the time. Go Ryan! You can't talk but you know your letters!

Mylee got a hair cut at the doggy salon. I tried cutting Minnie's hair and jacked it. That is why only Mylee is in the picture. Minnie looks so bad I am not taking her to the groomer until it grows a little. Note to self *do not groom your dogs, you are not a groomer*

On Tuesday I had to rush Jamie back to the hospital. His chest was in terrible pain. He called his Dr. and he said to get to the hospital right away. He said it could be a blood clot. Long story short it was not but he is recovering and is on steroids. He is not grouchy though so that's a plus. I heard you get grouchy on steroids.

The Dr. warned his leg would get very skinny. He has a bird leg now.

Well, there is our update! I have been so busy taking care of the family. Jamie's Dad came out because of the blood clot scare. I am so glad he is here. Just having him here to keep Jamie company makes me feel so much better. Our grass needed to be cut and the wood on our porches need to be painted. I threatened to do it and Jamie hired help soon after. I guess after seeing minnie he did not want to risk his lawn and porch. I was just trying to save a buck.Note to self *NEVER TRY TO GROOM MINNIE AGAIN*

Game ball

Today was Aubree's first game. She was 3 for 3 and was awarded the game ball! Jamie was so happy he called both sets of grandparents to share his excitement. Go Aubree!!!
